Web site Pick: Finally REAL Web based applications and Microsofts Name is nowhere to be found..

Is this a panacea for the thin client computing world? A web site that offers a fully functional Word Processor compatible with Microsoft Word that runs solely in a browser? How about a web site that offers a fully functional presentation program that you can create flowcharts and slides from a web browser. The best part? The price..it is FREE! The caveat... you must use Mozilla Firefox to run the applications...sorry NO MICROSOFT APPLICATIONS ALLOWED. Panacea? ABSOLUTELY!

The sites are the brainchild of Michael Robertson of MP3.com and Lindows..er Linspire fame. I really admire this guys gumption and innovation. He has his hands in many internet technologies all for the good of mankind and promoting open source.

This weeks pick has nothing to do with the SBC industry but is a cool download just the same. You know how it is when you have a bunch of MP3 files and you are sitting at your computer (or listening on your device) and you have to keep either turning the volume down or turning it up every time the song changes?

Aggravating right? Well I happened across a great utility in a project on sourcforge called MP3Gain. This utility is a godsend! You select your MP3 files set your level your volume level you want them to be and MP3Gain will do it's magic and fix all the files to as equal volume level as possible! What a great utility!
